If you were to sue your employer you run the risk of retaliation and being black balled.

Did you talk with an attorney? You should be compensated for medical bills, ongoing medical bills, loss of wages, pain and suffering and other related expenses such as travel and transportation. Be sure that you are 100% in the clear before returning to work. This means 100% healed. Companies have an uncanny ability to forcing people back to work. If you go back to work and somehow re-injure yourself getting to or coming home from work, you will probably not be covered if not on company time.
