The internal problems-Nike vs employee; slove way- improve working laws

by admin on July 17, 2010

As a very famous Nike company, Nike stores are all over the world. As subsidiarides from Nike company, many people think of such imagine- every employees should be satisfied with their workplace. Alomst everyone are painstaking research how to make Nike products better quality. Almost employees in store are thinking how to increase sales. More over designers of Nike series considered how to make Nike new series, i.e. Nike Air, Mercurial Vapor more popular from children to old. Is that ture? Do Nike really do well to employee?

Nike is a company based in Beaverton, Oregon, United states of America. It was first established in 1971 after Phil Knight (Nike’s chief executive) had finally managed to make a deal with Tiger, a subsidiary of the Onitsuka Company, to change its name to Nike. Nike was inspired originally by two people; Bill Bowerman’s quest for lighter, more durable racing shoes for his Oregon runners, and Knight’s search for a way to make a living without having to give up his love of athletics.

Critics and global rights workers may state that Nike is creating more poverty than they are preventing, but they do provide athletes with the upper hand in their professions. Nike also provides millions of occupations in countries where it is almost impossible to get a job. In Indonesia for example, although they receive little income in return for their labor, they still get free accommodation and access to daily necessities. Some workers want the Nike factories shut down, however hundreds of thousands of people would be turned away and left unemployed.

Although Nike may unfairly pay some workers in other countries they recently established a non profit organization called The Nike Foundation’. The Nike Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Beaverton, Oregon, USA dedicated to providing the world’s neediest adolescent girls with an opportunity to lead full and active lives and help contribute to the war against poverty. Why does The Nike Foundation focus on girls? Adolescent girls in the developing world face unthinkable challenges every day. They bear the burdens of domestic responsibility. They face higher rates of marital violence, unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS. And because of poverty and cultural norms, they often don’t have access to the same education and opportunities as boys. They are currently awarding 5.2 million dollars to any non-profit organization dedicated to making the world a better place for women living in poverty.

In conclusion, Nike has slowly but surely become one of the many companies targeted by a broad range of journalists and campaigners, although Nike may deny most of this. Unfortunately there is too much evidence against them. Though they do give a bit of it back to the community by establishing an organization such as The Nike Foundation. Unlike Nike Shoes which are very popular all around the world, Nike’s employees are low key no one know who product Nike trainers shoes, it is fortunately that employees exposure Nike’s scandal. Hopefully Nike will improve its working laws in the future and force its factories to obey strict American rules. As Phil Knight once said “Anyone who owns a body is an athlete and as long as there are athletes there will be Nike.”
